How Jhuggiscame into being?

The development of modern towns attracted people from rural areas to migrate to the urban areas. Since they were unable to afford the living cost of urban towns, people started settling down in the outskirts which were termed as 'slums'. These slums were composed of kachcha houses called jhuggis, insanitary living conditions & were poor basic amenities.
