how to find six rational numbers between 3 and 4

Making The Denominators Same We Get (Here Also The Denominators Are Same But We cant find number)

3*10/1*10 AND 4*10/1*10

=> 30/10 AND 40/10

Now Six Rational Number Could Be 31/10,32/10 = 16/5, 33/10,34/10 = 17/5.35/10 = 7/2 and 36/10 = 18/5

So ANswer=> 31/10,16/5,17/5,7/2 and 18/5

First of all we make both rational numbers with same denominator.

We have 3 and 4 which is nothing but 3/1 and 4/1. We make both fractions anto same denominator i.e =

3/1*8/8 , 4/1*8*8.

We get 24/8 and 32/8. Now we arrange these in ascending order.

24/8 < 25/8 < 26/8 < 27/8 < 28/8 < 29/8 < 30/8 < 31/8 < 32/8

i.e = 3/1 < 25/8 < 13/4 < 27/8 < 7/2 < 29/8 < 15/4 < 31/8 < 4/1.

Therefore the rational numbers between 3 and 4 are 25/8, 13/4, 27/8, 7/2, 29/8, 15/4 and 31/8.

A rational number is any number which can be written as a quotient of 2 integers i.e can be expressed as a/b.

So six rational numbers between 3 and 4 would be

10/3, 17/5, 19/6, 11/3, 13/4, 22/7

Though there are many more than that.

 On a number line:

< ------- 0 1 2 3 [fractions here ] 4 --->

You're being asked to find 6 fractions between 3 and 4. (Larger than 3 but smaller than 4)

Let's list some fractions = 3.

3/1
6/2
9/3
12/4
15/5
18/6

Fractions = 4.

4/1
8/2
12/3
16/4
20/5
24/6

Fractions BETWEEN these could include (bolded):

6/2 7/2 8/2
9/3 10/3 11/3 12/3
12/4 13/4 14/4 15/4 16/4
15/5 16/5 17/5 18/5 19/5 20/5
18/6 19/6 20/6 21/6 22/6 23/6 24/6

Remember to simplify your fractions, some of them are the same! (ex: 14/4 = 7/2)
