ASL is very easy ! u should explain the difference between house and home as -

1. house is a building where people live whereas home is a place where a family with a special bonding lives

2. House can be rented bcoz house is just a building whereas home is a celebration of emotions

  • 6
1. HOUSE - A house is a building. Specifically, it's usually a single family building. Apartment buildings aren't usually called house. A "House" is still a house, whether there are people living there or it's empty.
2. HOME - Home is the place where a person lives, or where they feel that they belong. It has more emotional associations then the word "house".
Home can also mean the place where u grew up.

*In simple language house is a building where people live only. But home is the place where people have there SWEET MEMORIES, EMOTINAL ASSOCIATIONS, LOVE and Where they GREW UP*.

We feel very comfortable in our home whereas a house is a building or apartment or structure whose main purpose is to occupied for habitation by human beings. A house is a bigger than that of home and it may not be a home. A home is always special for you. There is nothing in the world as sweet as a home .A home is a happy home . We always love our parents and they also love us . Everyone in the home is cheerful, enjoyable and least burdensome. Everyone care for each other and do their best to make a home a happy and sweet home .

A family can live in a house and if they are always arguing and not getting along then it's not a home. A home is the people in it ... they care about each other, are loyal, laugh together, play together and are normally happy, but not without some trials and tribulations along the way. It's the way family acts towards each other that either just makes it a house (wood, stone, siding, etc.) or a home with great personalities.  Other Answers:
  • The difference between a house and a home is that a house can be your aunts house,or you grandmothers house, or your friends house, but a home is where you live.
  • A house is where you stay, or live, or hang out. A home is where you have a wife, children, or a girl friend or you just feel feel secure that that is where you want to be and you enjoy the premises.

A house is a domestic shelter but a home is where one's domestic affections are centered
A house is building where you are living for temporarily basis without your family. but home is just opposite of house, where you are living with your family. Mr. Shahbaz

  • A house is made bricks .mortar and stones, in some cases in wood too.
  • A home is not the same
  • A home is different.
  • A home is where congenial people live, love each other, forgive each other, understand more each other, live in peace and avoid frictions at every count.
  • A home is a place where the children will be happy and creative in thinking and positive in attitude.
  • At a home everything will be in its place and you can easily find what you want.
  • Home is always a sweet home (with exceptions depending upon who are the occupants and
  • House is different .

Quote
A home is not a mere transient shelter: its essence lies in the personalities of the people who live in it. -- H. L. Mencken

A house is not a home
A house is a structure as the other poster put it, but a home is the people who live in the house and make it a safe and pleasant place to be. You've heard quotes such as "Keep the home fires burning" (during the wars years) and the oldie but goodie "Home is where the heart is." You can live in a beautiful home, but if you have no one to love and share it with, then it's just a plain house no matter how fancy it is. Poor or rich, no children or a dozen children, adults have the control to make any place a good home.
A home can be anywhere you live -- your home may be a mobile home, or a motor home, or an igloo. For some, home can be an abandoned warehouse on Main Street in Anywhere, USA. You can call an apartment your home. As they say, "Home is where the heart is."
But a house is a physical structure with walls and a roof and a door. An apartment would not be considered your "house", etc.

A Home May Be A House, But A House Isn't Always A Home
A house is a structure or a dwelling.
A home is the place where you live, love, and feel welcomed. It's the place you look forward to going to at the end of the day. It's comfort, safety and stability. It may be an apartment in a high-rise building, a dilapidated shack, a mansion, or a split level in the suburbs, but it's always a place where you feel safe and comfortable. Conversely, just because a place is yours, or because your family lives there, does not necessarily make a place a home.
My home is wherever my husband and children are. But, the house I grew up in with my mother, step-father, and sisters, was never a home to me.
"Home is where the heart is." I'm sure you've heard this before, or some variation of it.
A house is a building built for people to live. A home is a place where people can be with people or things they enjoy. A home is a place where you can be yourself. A home is a place where you are accepted. A house does not have personal or sentimental value, a home does.

Real estate agents say
Real estate agents are trained to minimize emotional involvement by calling it a house when you sell it, and maximize emotional involvement by calling it a home when you buy it.
A "home" is where you live your life. A "house" is where you pose waiting for the photographers to show up.
"A house is only a structure where a family lives, but a home is a place where love abides."

A house and a home - Two words with very different meanings. Most of the time, their meaning is regarded the same. If you have a house, you have a home, that’s what people think. But this is a false statement. A house is nothing but a material thing, something that can protect us from the scorching sun or a terrible storm. People believe that the bigger their house is, the wealthier they are and happier the home is.
A home is totally different. A home is where your true happiness lies. Home is where you are loved, where you are comfortable, and where your spirit rests and re-energizes. You can buy a big, fancy house with money, but not a happy home. That is the reason why celebrities file divorces, move out and all that nonsense. From the outside, their houses might seem grand, but what about the inside?
Well, if you have a house  it doesn’t guarantee that you have a home.
if you are happy with your family, although you don’t have a house, I think its worthy to be called a happy home.
So, in conclusion, I say that there is a wide gap of difference between a house and a home. Saying that a house and a home are similar is just like saying that the North Pole is similar to the South Pole. Pointless and totally wrong. So, it’s fine if your house is not big, or regal or fancy. As long as you are happy, you're in a home.

When you go through the newspaper, you find many houses for sale. Sometimes at street corners, you find signs saying that there is a house available for rent. A house is a place in which people live. It offers shelter. There may be thousands of houses in the city in which you live, but there is only one, which you call your home. The house which you choose to live in becomes your home. Your builder constructed a house. When you moved in, it became your home. Home is the place where your family is. It provides emotional warmth and security. A house, on the other hand, provides shelter. Usually people buy a home and sell a house. People who are away from their home often complain about being homesick, not housesick. What they lack is not a roof over their head, but the emotional warmth and security. Nowadays, every city has a home for the aged. They are not called house for the aged because these places provide not only shelter but also emotional comfort for the old people. Other common expressions in English are: There's no place like home, Home, sweet home, and Home is where the heart is. Nobody ever substitutes the word house in any of these expressions.

In fact there was but one thing wrong with the Babbit house. It was not a home

ASL is done to improve your skills. Better if you write it by your own. No one is going to give you the answers of the problem solving phase. After all you have to try it out of your own.

Home: The Representation of You Everyone lives in a house, but not everyone can call their house a home for many different reasons. Even though homes and houses are similar in location and structure, a home represents who you are, inside and out. Some of the attributes that make a home include not only the smell of fresh cookies, but family moments, things that define you. A home is a happy place, and when families are together, happiness resides. A family cares for each other and loves to be together. They create many memories wherever they are, but most reside in the home. Whether it's playing games, making treats, serving a loved one, or building friendships, they all play a part in turning a house into a home. The home is also a way to separate people from everyday life, allowing them to be themselves. It's a place where people have the freedom to express their thoughts, actions, feelings, and emotions however they feel is necessary. By showing who you are and how you feel, you make where you live personal and a part of who you are. These are only a few details to the construction of a home. The final step can only be done through ourselves. We need to believe that our house is our home because the more we believe, the more it becomes reality. It will influence those that enter, and strengthen those who build it, so no matter where life takes us we will always have our home.

As they say House build with bricks, cement & soils but home build with love, care & respect. There is a difference between house & home. It took too many efforts to transform a house in to home. Home is there where your heart is. A place where you feel most comfortable & cherished after roaming all over the universe in evening is called home. House built by companies & contractors by home built by you & your family. A house has 4 walls & one roof but home has stores & memories & dreams everyday & lifetime.

"House" is a material thing or a place where one lives in; Meanwhile, "home" is used with more spiritual meaning. It is the same place which love innated in it because of the ones who compose it. This is the very reason why the well-known phrase very aptly opines- “You can always buy a house, but not a home”.

The main difference between them is that house is concrete. House refers to a building in which someone lives. In contrast, a home can refer either to a building or to any location that a person thinks of as the place where she lives and that belongs to her. A home can be a house or an apartment, but it could also be a tent, a boat, or an underground cave.

A home can even be something abstract, a place in your mind. When you say, “Let’s go home,” you are probably not talking simply about going to the physical structure where you live. You are talking about being in the special place where you feel most comfortable and that belongs to you.
