Good Morning dear friends. Today we are all assembled to celebrate our 64th Republic Day. A day when we remember all our great leaders who have fought for independence of our country. For our independence. Its because of them we are able to enjoy a free life today ruled by no one. Leaders have proved that we can win war without using guns and machines. By maintaining values, practicing ethics India has won a war over British. India before Independence, celebrated 26th January as Republic day. But we got our independence on 15th August 1947. What happens to 26th Jan ? So on 26th January 1950, constitution of India was formed and thereafter we have celebrated this day every year as Republic day. Life for us has not been easy. We were very poor at the time of Independence. We have come a long way since then. We are now acquiring international companies, Our GDP growth is one of the best in the world at a time when the entire world was in recession, we have the best technicians in the field of IT, medicines, accounting and so on. It is the beginning of new era. An Era of Indias growth. A country which the entire world is looking up to. This is the best time for India. But then how does our country grow from here. Yes, its us, you my friends are going to play a crucial role in the progress of the our country. You are the backbone of our countrys future. We must be a part of Indias growth story and not of any other country. We must maintain our integrity, values and ethics at all times as people rely and trust us more than anybody else. Padmasri TN Manoharan, Past President of ICAI is a great example on how his team revived satyam. He is a role model for all of us. We must change to see our country change.- A change in the right direction. Our country is a symbol of great diversity in every form. I wish the feeling of oneness remains in the heart of every Indian in our movement to glorious future. May god bless you all

Short paragraph on Republic Day

On February 6, 2014 By Ankita MitraCategory: Essays, Paragraphs and Articles, Kids

Republic Day is celebrated in India on 26th day of January every year.

India became an Independent Nation on 15th August, 1947. On 26th January, 1950 India was formerly declared Republic. In Republic, the supreme power is held not by a monarch, but by the elected representatives of the people, along with an elected President. So this day is celebrated as the Republic Day. It is a National holiday.

In the morning there is a flag hoisting ceremony. We remember the freedom fighters who gave us freedom. It is because of them that we are enjoying our freedom today. Various speakers urge the people to remain united and respect their country. The programme comes to an end when everyone stands up to sing the National Anthem.

in Delhi, on the occasion of Republic day, a parade is held every year on Rajpath where contingents of armed forces march, latest weapons are displayed. Different states depicting their culture and progress are taken out. People from all over the country come to witness this parade. The National flag is flown a top in all government offices and buildings. At night the Government offices and the President’s house are illuminated.

The 66th Republic day celebration ceremony in India was held on 26th January, 2015. Barack Obama, 44thPresident of the Unites States of America, was invited as chief guest to attend the ceremony. It was a moment of respect and self-esteem for the Indians.

Short Speech on Republic Day (26 January)

On November 12, 2014 By Team WorkCategory: Essays, Paragraphs and Articles

We are all proud citizens of India. 26th January is celebrated as Republic Day in India every year. On this day in 1950, India becomes a Democratic Republic. Celebrations are held every year on this day throughout the country.

On 26th January, 1950, the Constitution of India came into force and made India a Democratic Republic country. The people of our country rule themselves and all are equal and free. The government is ruled by candidates selected by the people of our country.

The Constitution of India was drafted by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar which helped to replace the existing Government of India Act, 1935. The Constitution of India which was drafted by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was actually passed on 26th November, 1949.

Hence, India becomes a sovereign, socialist, secular and democratic republic on 26th January, 1950. But the word ‘socialist’ and ‘secular’ was previously not present in the constitution. It was added in its 42nd amendment in 1976.

The fundamental rights and duties of the people of the Republic in India have been laid down in our constitution. Every citizen of India is equal in the eye of law, and no one is to suffer because of religion, creed, caste, colour or race.

During the British Rule, two great personalities such as Mahatma Gandhi and Rabindranath Tagore gave the same message of peace, love, unity and equality.

Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first President of the Indian Republic, had asked us to think more of our duties than of our rights. Jawaharlal Nehru, our first Prime Minister too, has again given us the same message.

The people of India celebrate Republic Day with proud and honour. This is also a day of reunion. The People celebrate this day with the whole family. People wear new clothes and start the day with the National Song of India.

In most organizations, clubs, institutions, parades are organized where people wear white clothes with Tri-colour in their hands and march to some specified areas. Patriotic songs are sung everywhere.

The celebrations in the capital (New Delhi) are the most stunning with parade and cultural pageant by different states.

Republic Day is an official holiday and all the schools and colleges celebrate this day by organizing a little program and finally a parade of all boys and girls. They all march inside the campus of the schools and colleges and feel proud to be an Indian. Many people celebrate this day with their friends and loved ones

Namaskar my dear brothers and sisters from India. Our country celebrates the Republic day every year since 1950 and like every year, this Republic day brings warm greetings for everyone on this auspicious occasion.

Since 1930, India has been celebrating 26th January as an auspicious day which was nearly 20 years even before the actual Republic day started to be taken into consideration.

26th January 1930 marked the first Fake Independence day which the country used to observe when the Congress had asked the British to comply on certain requirements, which if not followed would be declared as the independence day for the country.

After India got the actual independence on 15th August 1947, the committee under the leadership of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar brought up the new Constitution of India which replaced the Government of India Act of 1935.

The purna Swaraj declaration of 1930 got a new appearance when the old fake independence day got vanishing after we got the actual independence.

When India became independent from the British rule, there was a lot of rework to be done to save our country from becoming a hell. It was a time when people were fighting with each other for each and everything.

The Independent republic of India was officially born on 26th January 1950 after being for nearly 100 years under the British rule.

The ceremonies of 1950 marked the cutting down of the last ties of of India to Britain. The first Indian president got sworn in, is Dr. Rajendra Prasad whose words were as follows: –
“Today, for the first time in our long and chequered history,” he said, “we find the whole of this vast land… brought together under the jurisdiction of one constitution and one union which takes over responsibility for the welfare of more than 320 million men and women who inhabit it.”

Today, the country stil fights the crime and violence which has a different design than that of earlier times.
Prior to Independence, the crime and violence had the name of British.
Now the crime and violence has the name of terrorits, rape, burglary, riots, strikes and the taking of lives of valued citizens.
Even after becoming republic, we are not free of the terrorism which is pulling our country from the main stream of countris in the path of development and progress.

Poverty, illiteracy, unemployent are the three major factors which is pulling us back and making people to sort to the bad ways of living life.

Still with all these problems, Unity in diversity has been the biggest symbol of our country. I feel that we make our progress in the good direction in the coming days and the feeling of oneness remains in the progressive days of tomorrow.

Jai Hind.

A very warm morning to all. Today I am going to say a few words on Republic Day. Republic Day is celebrated on 26th January every year. It is a national holiday. It is day when our country adopted our own constitution. But it won't be possible without Dr.B.R. Ambedkar. We had got independence on 15th August,1947, but our constitution was adopted on 26th January, 1950. Today we have the honour of the world's largest constitution. This day is one of the most remarkable days in the history of India. It is celebrated by every Indian with the feeling of patriotism towards the country. The sacrifices of freedom fighters are also remembered and the Republic day parade is also held in the rashtrapati bha van in Delhi. Dances are performed by children from different schools, marching is displayed by the Indian army, guests from different countries are invited and are given respect. Republic day is not only celebrated in Delhi but also in every part of the country with joy. This festival not only gives us the feeling of patriotism but also the feeling of brotherhood.

Republic Day honors the date on which the Constitution of India came into effect on 26 January 1950 replacing the Government of India Act (1935) as the governing document of India.[1] The Constitution was adopted by the Indian Constituent Assembly on 26 November 1949, and came into effect on 26 January 1950 with a democratic government system, completing the country's transition towards becoming an independent republic. 26 January was chosen as the Republic day because it was on this day in 1930 when Declaration of Indian Independence (Purna Swaraj) was proclaimed by the Indian National Congress as opposed to the Dominion status offered by British Regime. It is one of three national holidays in India, the other two being Independence Day and Gandhi Jayanti. History of Republic Day India achieved independence from British raj on 15 August 1947 following the Indian independence movement noted for largely peaceful non-violent resistance and civil disobedience led by Mahatma Gandhi. The independence came through the Indian Independence Act 1947 (10 & 11 Geo 6 c 30), an Act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom that partitioned British India into the two new independent Dominions of the British Commonwealth (later Commonwealth of Nations).[2] India obtained its independence on 15 August 1947 as a constitutional monarchy with George VI as head of state and the Earl Mountbatten as governor-general. The country, though, did not yet have a permanent constitution; instead its laws were based on the modified colonial Government of India Act 1935. On 28 August 1947, the Drafting Committee was appointed to draft a permanent constitution, with Dr B R Ambedkar as chairman. While India's Independence Day celebrates its freedom from British Rule, the Republic Day celebrates the coming into force of its constitution. A draft constitution was prepared by the committee and submitted to the Assembly on 4 November 1947.[3] The Assembly met, in sessions open to public, for 166 days, spread over a period of 2 years, 11 months and 18 days before adopting the Constitution. After many deliberations and some modifications, the 308 members of the Assembly signed two hand-written copies of the document (one each in Hindi and English) on 24 January 1950. Two days later, it came into effect throughout the whole nation. Celebrations President Rajendra Prasad (in the horse-drawn carriage) readies to take part in the first Republic Day parade on Rajpath, New Delhi, in 1950. The main Republic Day celebration is held in the national capital, New Delhi, at the Rajpath before the President of India. On this day, ceremonious parades take place at the Rajpath, which are performed as a tribute to India; its unity in diversity and rich cultural heritage. In 2016, on the occasion of the 67th Republic Day, the Protocol Department of the Government of Maharashtra held its first parade on the lines of the Delhi Republic Day parade along the entire stretch of Marine Drive in Mumbai. Delhi Republic Day parade Main article: Delhi Republic Day parade Delhi Republic Day parade is held in the capital, New Delhi. Commencing from the gates of the Rashtrapati Bhavan (the President's residence), Raisina Hill on Rajpath past the India Gate, this event is the main attraction of India's Republic Day Celebrations lasting 3 days. The parade showcases India's Defence Capability, Cultural and Social Heritage. Nine to twelve different regiments of the Indian Army in addition to the Navy, and Air Force with their bands march past in all their finery and official decorations. The President of India who is the Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Armed Forces, takes the salute. Twelve contingents of various para-military forces of India and other civil forces also take part in this parade.[4] Beating Retreat Main article: Beating Retreat The Beating Retreat ceremony is held after officially denoting the end of Republic Day festivities. It is conducted on the evening of 29 January, the third day after the Republic Day. It is performed by the bands of the three wings of the military, the Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force. The venue is Raisina Hill and an adjacent square, Vijay Chowk, flanked by the North and South block of the Rashtrapati Bhavan (President's Palace) towards the end of Rajpath. The Chief Guest of the function is the President of India who arrives escorted by the (PBG), a cavalry unit. When the President arrives, the PBG commander asks the unit to give the National Salute, which is followed by the playing of the Indian National Anthem, Jana Gana Mana, by the Army. The Army develops the ceremony of display by the massed bands in which Military Bands, Pipe and Drum Bands, Buglers and Trumpeters from various Army Regiments besides bands from the Navy and Air Force take part which play popular tunes like Abide With Me, Mahatma Gandhi's favourite hymn, and Saare Jahan Se Achcha at the end.

Many people celebrate this day with their friends and loved ones.

Let us make a great promise that we would be live together in peace and happiness as the people of the same nation.
