i would like to know, when an amoeba reproduces during binary fission and when the daughter amoeba froms, what happens to the mother cell ? are the two new amoeba the daughter or one is the mother and one is child ?.

Dear Student,

Very good question!! During binary fission in Amoeba, The content of a single cell divided equally to give rise to two new cells. These are known as the daughter cells. The parent cell is no longer present as it has divided. The daughter cells though are identical to the parent but are not as same as the parent because they are not mature. This case is different from that of budding because in budding, a small part of the parent cell buds off to give rise to a new individual and the rest of the parent cell is intact.

Hope this helps to clear your doubt,

Cheers!!
