In an experiment to show that oxygen is a by product of photosynthesis what is the effect on the rate of bubble formation if light source is changed from red to green?

Place an aquatic plant (hydrilla) in a beaker filled with water. Cover the plant with a transparent funnel. Then, invert a test tube over the open end of the funnel.

While inverting the test tube, make sure it does not contain any air bubbles. Place this apparatus in sunlight and observe the changes.

It will be observed that after sometime, air bubbles (O2) emerge in the test tube.

Photosynthesis occurs at higher rate in the blue and red regions of the spectrum. If spectrum is shifted from red to green, the rate of photosynthesis will decrease that will in turn reduce production of oxygen gas.
