In the chapter 'best seller' , para 16....what is Schutzenfestenstein and the traitors?? What does trevelyan want to depict??

Schutzenfestenstein is a fictitious character who has been captured by the traitors. The hero of the novel tells his lady love that he may not have riches but he has a sword that can save Schutzenfenstein from the traitors. 
By these words Trevelyn means to impress his lady love and show her that even though he might not be rich yet he is brave enough to save her from any calamities in her life.
