in what ways did the nazi state seek to establish total control over its people?

The Nazis wanted to control all activities of their people. The control was definitely more on the Jews and the other political oppositions. They developed a strong agencies like the Gestapo to watch the activities of teh oppositions,. All those who did not accept the leadership of Hitler or attempted to oppose him were murdered. The concentration camps were used as sites to torment the Jews. He wanted to create  a class of physically strong population and with this aim he made military training compulsory. The education curriculum was also crafted to highlight the supremacy of the Nazi ideology.
