A dog is classed as a carnivore, but is an omnivore in practise. This has been agreed by many veterinarians and many dog owners have seen them chew on plant matter like grass and some have even seen them eat berries. Dogs thrive on well balanced vegan diets and tend to be healthier than ones who are fed meat. For example, Bramble, a vegan border collie since the age of two, lived until 29. She was fed brown rice, lentils and organic vegetables.
