We can't say friction either r frnd nor r foe bcoz... their are various advantage nd disadvantages of friction.

some advantages of friction r:

We can walk on ground due to frictional force. Vehicles can run on road due to frictional force between the road nd tyres of vehicles,vehiclesin speed do nt skid as they offer sufficientfrictional force.Due to frictional force between a paper nd a pencil we r able to right on the paper using pencil.On applying the brake, the motion of the vehicle can be stopped due to frictional force between wheels of the vehicles nd brakes.Due to frictional force, the motion of a rotating wheel can be transferred to another wheel by using a belt .

Friction is considerd as a neccessary evil

this is due to friction that we are able to walk , write and perform many other tasks.

But it is due to friction that our shoes soal get torned .

Friction is both useful and harmful to us. In many cases friction is harmful to us. Thus threr is no appropriate answer to this but I would say FRICTION IS BOTH OUR FRIEND AND FOE.

frictionis as our friend because :Friction plays a vital role in our daily life. Without friction we are handicap.1. It is becomes difficult to walk on a slippery road due to low friction. When we move on ice, it becomes difficult to walk due to low friction of ice.2. We can not fix nail in the wood or wall if there is no friction. It is friction which holds the nail.3. A horse can not pull a cart unless friction furnishes him a secure Foothold.4. without friction we can not write because a pencil writes by the friction between its tip and paper .friction as our foe :1. The main disadvantage of friction is that it produces heat in various parts of machines. In this way some useful energy is wasted asheat energy.2.
