is secondary carbanion more stable than primary??? if yes, why??what is the order of stabilities of carbanions and carbocations?? Can i get the explanation with reasons.....

The stability of carbanion ion depends upon the inductive effect. Tertiary carbanion ion contains highest +I effect which increases electron density at central carbon making it highly unstable, while primary carbanion ion is highly stability. The decreasing order of stability is 1° >  2°  >  3°

The reverse effect is found in carbocations, in which the stability increase due to +I effect of the methyl group which decreases the positive charge at central carbon. Thus Tertiary carbocation is highly stable while primary carbocation is least stable.

no primary is more stable in case of carbanions ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

carbanions order is opposite of carbocations....a primary carbanion is more stable...if secondary the +I effect of alkyl grp will try to increase the negative charge thus making it unstable...whreas in carbocations alkyl grp will try to decrease the positive charge by its +I effect..thus stabilising it nd making sec carbocat more stable dan prim...the order goes like...

carbocation stability order...ter>sec>pri

carbanion,,,,pri>sec>ter
