These are the two ways of locomotion in Hydra, both are different from each other.

 Looping is the most common type of locomotion in hydra in which hydra makes 180º angle while moving.It is also known as caterpillar movement or leech movement. While in  Somersaulting, hydra makes 360º angle to move. It is the fastest  locomotion.
