lord ullins daughter wasright in her decision to defy her father.give three logical and relevant answer.

Lord Ullin’s daughter’s decision to defy her father leads to her death. The father who follows her with a fleet of cavaliers is left lamenting at the shore. The poem is romantic in its idea; the lovers elope for union, away from the wrath of Lord Ullin. But, it is tragic in its end as the lovers are eventually separated by death. The daughter’s decision to defy the wishes of her father can be seen both in the light of choosing a wrong way as well as a right decision. If the daughter would not have opted to elope with her lover, then Lord Ullin would not have supported her decision to live with the Highland Chieftain. The daughter, in this way, would have been forced to live a compromised life without her lover. She would have to live unhappily as her father would have never agreed to see her lover. This in turn would have anyway lead to her tragic end. Whereas, when she had eloped with her lover, they did not care about the stormy weather and as a result, she and her lover both lost their lives. Her decision was also wrong in the sense that she chose her love for the Highland chief above the love for her father. Therefore, in choosing Highland Chieftain, she overlooked her duties as a daughter and her father is shown lamenting for her in the end.
