please explain me.....amina thinks of a number and subtracts 52 from it.she multiplies the result by 8.the result now obtained is 3 times the same number she thought of.what is the number?

8x - 40/2 = 3x

8x - 3x = 40/2

5x = 40/2

x = 40/2 /5

   = 40/2 * 1/5

=4

8 [x-52] = 3x

8x - 416 = 3x

8x - 3x = 416

5x = 416

x = 416 / 5

= 83.2
