The Colonel Allyn had the reputation of being the biggest man and the finest quality in Virginia or anywhere else. He was a retired colonel who lived with his daughter Jessie in a big white house on the hill. Although he wore shabby clothes, he had a pleasant personality that could light up any place he would enter. He seemed inquisitive in he way he threw questions at John Pescud and was interested in knowing all about him. Another interesting trait in his personality is his love for stories; he seemed to enjoy telling as well as listening to tales.

He is  a retired colonel with a strict face.He is an angry looking man and never laughed in any situation .He has an habit of telling and listening to the stories from strangers.

 colonel allyns grand entrances lighted the room. he looked like a shabby charecter fram the times of beethoven and elizabeth dressed in stockings and wigs.he had a habit of sharing stories with everyone-be it a friend or a stranger.he had a good sense of humor an often liked a joke.he was an attentive listener and analyzed what he heard.
