Data Interpretation is a method that is used to derive useful information from the collected data. This collected data could be in the form of a pie chart, graph, table etc. The data has to be analyzed and utilized by the student to form a paragraph providing factual information.

In simple words, you will be presented with a data in the form of a pie chart/bar graph/ line graph/table etc. and based on the given data you will have to write a paragraph. For example:

Example: Look at the data given below which shows the changes that have occurred between 1995 to 2010 in Bilaspur regarding the women education. Write a paragraph in about 100 words to record the changes by interpreting the data.

Female Education in Bilaspur19952010
No. of girl's schools1015
No. of women colleges34
No. of students in schools10,00016,000
No. of students in colleges600010,000
Literacy rate30%55%
Distance Education CentresNil03

Ans: Woman education plays a very crucial role in the overall development of a country. Due to gender discrimination in our country, education of the girl-child is still lagging behind. From the above table, one could conclude that provisions for the education of the girl-child in Bilaspur changed but little over the period of 15 years.

During the year 1995, there were only 10 schools for the girls which rose to 15 in the year 2010. The number of the students studying in these schools rose to 16000 as against 10,000 students in the year 1995. Over the period of 15 years, girl's school increased by only 5 in number. Also, the number of women colleges in the year 1995 were 3 which rose to 4 in the year 2010 with 10,000 students studying in it.

The total literacy rate has increased by 25% from just 30% in the year 1995 to 55% in the year 2010. As per the data, there are only three distance learning centres in Bilaspur.

Bio Sketch :

Elements of a Biosketch:
Elaborate on the person’s details- life, career, background, life, activities etc. The person 's life story is told with respect to other people and events of the time in which they lived. It develops an understanding of the people, place, times, and events in which the person lived. It tells the story in a style and tone that the reader/listener can relate to the person and believe in their humanness. It talks about the person’s influence on the world.
