please wil you differenciate between compounds and radicals

Radical word is used for free radicals having an unpaired electron. For example: chlorine free radical (Cl . ).

The main difference between the ion and radical is that radicals carry odd number of electrons whereas ions carry even number of electrons.

A compound on the other hand, is a pure substance which consists of two or more atoms of different elements, combined in a fixed ratio by mass. Also the properties of a compound are entirely different from that of the combining elements. Some examples of compound include water (formed from atoms of two elements-oxygen and hydrogen), sodium chloride (formed from sodium and chlorine), ammonia etc.
