Solve x and y: x+6/y=6, 3x-8/y=5.

 x + 6/y = 6 ---- 1

3x - 8/y = 5 ---- 2

by elimination method :-

multiplying equation 1 by 4 --- 4x + 24/y = 24 --- 3

multiplying equation  2 by 3 --- 9x - 24/y = 15 --- 4

equation 3 + equation 4

4x + 24/y + 9x - 24/y = 24 + 15

                           13x = 39

implements x = 3

therefore--- substituting value of x in equation 1

3 + 6/y = 6

i.e. (3y + 6)/y = 6

       3y + 6 = 6y

               6 = 6y-3y .... 6 = 3y

implements y = 2

therefore x = 3 and y=2

x + 6/y = 6 .......................(eq.1)  3x - 8/y = 5......................(eq.2)

In eq. 1 & 2,  x + 6 = 6y , 3x - 8 = 5y

Now by the method of equalising coefficient ,  ( x + 6 = 6y) 3 , ( 3x - 8 = 5y)1

3x +18 = 18y, 3x - 8 = 5y,  26 = 13y  ,y = 2  now, by putting the value of 'y' in eq 1,we get,

x + 6 = 6(2),  x + 6 = 12,  x = 6
