speech on nepotism in indian politics

Respected principal, teachers, and my dear friends wish you all a very good morning.
Today I have received an opportunity to express my view on nepotism in Indian politics.
Well to begin with the topic let me first say that the term nepotism may mean any kind of favoritism, biasness, partiality or any preferential treatment. It is normally a practice of favoring the relatives and friends, particularly by giving them jobs and many other facilities, by people who are in power. The origin of this term is linked with the assignment of nephews to important position by Catholic popes and Bishops. This nepotism has swallowed up almost every section starting from politics and religion to entertainments and business. However, it is the most common accusation in the field of politics.
Indian politics is badly affected by this nepotism. Every now and then we see relatives of influential people getting a position which they don’t deserve at all. In every field only the power and money matters. The craze for giving importance to talent in this society is decreasing day by day. Corruption is thus creeping into the social order. Often it is observed that some less educated people get into supremacy by the help of money, and then these people help some more uneducated people to get into the administration by their influence. Here lies the major question that if a person cannot evaluate himself properly, how he will evaluate the problems of the society. The society is thus on its last legs.
However, for this situation we are also responsible to certain extent. We forgot to revolt against the corruption prevailing in this society. If we join hand to revolt against such practices, hopefully a day will come when talent will get preference to relation. India is a democratic country and it’s our constitutional right to get our human rights fulfilled, isn’t it?
Thank you.
