Both lord Ullin and his daughter were responsible for the tragedy in the poem "Lord Ullin's daughter".As in the poem the daughter was so scared of her father and didn't expressed her feelings and the father also didn't care about her emotions and treated her badly got her decision.

The two aspects are that he was angry when her daughter run with her lover or chieftain, he ordered his men to kill them but when he saw his daughter and he lover was engulfed by stormy sea he was crying for their come back and then left lamenting
