The average age of a group of 9 people is 35 years. The average age of the group was increased by 1.5 years when a 32 years person was is replaced by another person in the group. What is the age of the new person? Please explain this question because I am not able to get it and please explain it in an easy language........

therefore sum of the ages of 9 people = 35 * 9 = 315.
let the age of the new person be x years.
therefore the sum of the ages of new group = 315 - 32 +x
= 283+x
new average age of the group = 35+1.5 = 36.5
thus sum of the ages of new group:
$$\begin{gathered} 283+x=36.5*9 \\ 283+x=328.5 \\ x=328.5-283 \\ x=45.5 \end{gathered}$$
thus the age of the new person is 45.5 years.
