'The biological loss is strongly correlated with the loss of cultural diversity'. Explain

The depletion of resources, the destruction of forests and wildlife is not only a biological loss but is correlated with loss of cultural diversity as it largely affects the indigenous population who are dependent on them.

a. The Indigeneous population known as 'Tribals' in India get impacted by such a destruction as it leads to their displacement forcing them to relocate in newer areas.

b. It has also marginalised and impoverished these forest dependent communities who are directly dependent on various forests and wildlife for their food, drink,medicines,culture, spirituality etc that determines their very existence and their way of living.

c. As these groups represent a different culture in terms of their living, eating habits which is based on the dependency on nature any destruction of the forests wildlife impacts them reducing their numbers.

d. Women gets affected more than men amongst these communities ,as these resources gets depleted women have to walk more to collect resources for their daily survival, which causes serious health problems having strong implications.

e. Deforestation and degradation also causes floods, drought which again hits poor the most.
