The gene for red hair is  recessive to the gene for black coloUr
What will be the hair colour of the child if he inherits a gene for red colour from his mother and a gene for black colour from his father?
EXPRESS WITH THE HELP OF FLOWCHART .

Dear student,

Assuming the father is with genotype (BB) and the mother is with genotype (bb), the monohybrid cross can be depicted as follows:

Parents    :                 BB         ×             bb
                              (Black)                 (Red)

Gametes  :                B,B                      b,b

F1 Generation  :

    Male/Female gametes                b               b
                B               Bb             Bb
                B               Bb             Bb

  F2 Generation :           Bb(Black)      ×          Bb(Black)      [selfing]

  Male/Female gametes
                  B

              b
                  B                 BB              Bb
                   b                  Bb              bb

Similarly, you can try out the cross between heterozygous genotype for black (Bb) of the father and homozygous recessive genotype of the mother (bb).
If you find any problem, you can get back to us.
Nice attempt by Aravindram. keep posting!!!

It will be black colour because black colour plays a dominant role over that of red one.
Let  (B) denote black colour and (b) denote red colour.

BB x bb

therefore it id black colour
