The ideality factor of a silicon diode is 1 and its dark saturation current is 1 × 10 -10 A. What would be the value of the current flowing through the diode when the voltage across it is 0.1 V at 300 K?.

yeh questn kya aieee mei aa skta h experts . agr han toh krke btao .pls .thnku .

The Shockley equation for diode is given by

Here,

I = Diode current

VD = voltage across the Diode = 0.1 Volt

IS = reverse bias saturation current = 1 × 10 -10 A

n = ideality factor = 1

VT = Thermal voltage

=current through the diode

The Shockley diode equation is not in CBSE syllabus so it won’t come in AIEEE examination
