The points that are in a straight line are only the collinear points or it can be in other shapes?

Three or more points are said to be collinear if they lie on the same line and points which do not lie on the same line are known as non-collinear points.

Example :

In the given figure, the points A, B, C are collinear points since these points lie on the same line and D, E, F are non collinear points.

Hence, it is clear from the above definition and figure that the points which lies on the straight line are always collinear.
