Though London was stylishly modern, but till the middle of the 19th century it was preindustrial. Explain ? cbse-i pls reply soon

London was a highly modernised place even during the olden times even before industrialisation and development of modern technologies. In 1810 the population of London was more than one million so this enlarged population and their need for development forced urbanisation to take place in London. So this way even before the formal inauguration of Industrial period, London was more modern as compared to any other country even in pre-industrial era.
