An assertive sentence is a sentence that states a fact, expresses a thought or declares something. Such sentences are simple statements. They usually assert something or express a declaration. 

  • We jog every morning.

  • Mira lives in a big cottage.

  • Harry goes to school every weekday.

  • John is a musician.
