what are high density and low density polythene??

Low density polymer was the first Poly-ethylene to be developed. It has low-density levels and only a small amount of branching. It is very flexible and easy to clean. It is often used to make plastic film wrap and plastic bags. Additionally, it is used to make plastic items that need to be molded, such as plastic bottles used in labs and some prostheses.

High density polymer has higher density levels; it is also characterized by a linear structure consisting of no branching. That makes high density polymer stronger and more resistant to chemicals. It is most commonly used for items requiring blow molding techniques, such as toys, automobile parts and bottles. For example P.V.C.

High density polyethylene is a linear polymer that has crystalline regions and is used to make rigid containers such as 1 gallon milk bottles. Low density polyethylene is a branched polymer whose molecules pack more loosely than those of high density polyethylene. Low density polyethylene is more transparent and waxy than the high density polymer and it is used to make flexible bottles and plastic wrap...

moreover...if u take the samples of H.D and L.D polythene..and drop them into a mixture containing 1:1 ethanol and water....H.D polythene sinks..while L.D polythene floats..:)
