What are intermolecular space? how are these related to the 3 states of matter?

According to kinetic theory of matter, matter whether in solid, liquid or gaseous form consists of small particles called molecules, atoms or ions. These particles are arranged such that they have spaces between them. These spaces are known as intermolecular spaces. These spaces are large in gases, medium in liquids and small in solids.

the space between two molecules are known as intermolecular spaces. In solids the intermolecular spaces are low whereas in liquid the intermolecular spaces moderate and in gases the intermolecular spaces are high.

the space between molecules of a substance is called i,ntermolecular space

it is related to the states of matter as all the three states have different intremolecular space between them with solids having the least intermolecular space,in liquids the intermolecular space is slightly more than that of solids and gases the intermolecular space is the maximum

the spaces between molecules of an element..in an atom is known as intermolecular space.in solids there is no intermolecular space since the molecules are tightly packed which makes them hard too..that is why we observe that solids r hard.in liquids, the intermolecular spaces are somewhat lose which makes a liquid loose and soft.in a gas,the intermolecular spaces are the mostor greatest as compared to other states.so gases cannot be felt or caught.hope the answer helps
