What are Lysosomes? Why are they called digestive bags of the cell?

-Lysosomes are membrane bound sacs filled with digestive enzymes made by RER.

-Lysosomes are a kind of waste disposal system of the cell.

-Lysosomes help to keep the cell clean by digesting any foreign material, bacteria and worn out cell organelle.

-They are able to do this because they contain powerful digestive enzymes capable of breaking down all organic material.

Lysosomes (also called digestive bags and sucidal bags) :

They are membrane bound orgenelles filled with digestive enzymes. They are produced by RER.

Their function is to keep the cell clean by digesting any forigen material that enters in the cell.

They are called digestive bags because they contian digestive enzymes as stated above

They are also called as sucidal bags, because during unfavouriable conditions they digest their own cell to protect it from infecting other cells.

They are found in some plant cells on the cytoplasm.

Hope it helps !!!

LYSOSOMES ARE SO CALLED DIGESTIVE BAGS OF THE CELL BECAUSE THEY HAVE CHEMICAL IN THEM THAT DIGEST THE WASTES  AND OTHER BAD ORGANELLE . AND LYSOSOMES ARE ALSO CALLED SUICIDAL BAGS  .

LYSOSOMES ARE NOTHING BUT THEY ARE ORGANELLE IN THE CYTOPLASM.LYSOSOME IS A MEMEBRANE BOUND CELL ORGANELLE FOUND IN MOPST ANIMAL CELL THEY ARE ABSENT IN RBC
