what are surds and radicals

Dear Student!

Here is the answer to your query.

If a is a positive rational number, which cannot be expressed as nth power of some rational number then the rational number is called a surd i.e. any root of a number which cannot be exactly found is called surd

and the degree of the surd is the radical sign i.e. radical is the opposite function of exponent.

Example :  etc are some examples of surd and radicals.

Cheers!
