What are the Advantages and Disadvantages of Synthetic Fibres ?

ADVANTAGES

They are not dependent either on an agriculture crop or any animal farming.

They are usually less expensive compared to the natural fibres.

They can be washed easily and they dry up fast.

They are insect ,stain , fungi and rot resistant.

DISADVANTAGES

Can be damaged by washing with hot liquids.

Has a really low melting point and can be easily damage by heat.

More electrostatic energy is produced by rubbing than by rubbing on natural fibres.

They burn more easily compared to natural fibres.

THATS ALL!!!!!!

Disadvantages-

synthetic fibres melt on heating.

T h i s   i s   a c t u a l l y   a   d i s a d v a n t a g e   o f synthetic fibres. If the clothes catch fire, it can be disastrous. The fabric melts and sticks to the body of the person wearing it. We should, therefore, not wear synthetic clothes while working in in the kitchen or in a laboratory.

Advantages-

They dry up quickly, are durable, less expensive, readily available and easy to maintain.Synthetic fibres are more durable and affordable which makes them more popular than natural fibres.
