what are the adveantages of AC over DC and vice versa?

Advantages of AC over DC:

1. It can be transported over long distance at high voltage and low current so as minimizing the ohmic loss in heat.
2. It can be used as carrier waves for signal transmission purposes without the need of oscillators.
3. It can be controlled without power loss via inductor or capacitor.

Advantages of DC over AC:

1. It can be directly used with electronic components without the need of rectification.
2. It is relatively less dangerous than AC.
