what are the causes of the flood in jammu and kashmir? fast

The disastrous floods of 2014 in Jammu & Kashmir were caused by very heavy rainfall that the state received from 2nd September 2014 onwards. By 5th September, the heavy rainfall had resulted in the Jhelum river in Srinagar flowing above the danger mark. River Chenab also started flowing above the danger mark. Such heavy rainfall generated landslides and flooding, as a result submerging various parts of Srinagar and other areas of the state.
