What are veins made up of?

Dear Student,

The vein wall consists of three layers:

The outer covering of vein is composed of connective tissue as well as collagen and elastic fibers. This layer is known as tunica adventitia. The middle layer  is composed of smooth muscle and elastic fibers, this layer is known as tunica media. The interior is lined with endothelial cells called tunica intima.

Hope you have got the answer.

The veins are made up of thin walls as compared to the arteries. they carry the deoxygenated  blood except the pulmonary vein because this is the only vein which carries oxygenated blood.
