what do you mean by menopause

I don't think there is any need to stress on the age factor of menopause, because it is having a wide range variation from 40 to 60 years since it use to vary from woman to woman. Generally in western society average age of menopause is 50 years whereas in asian coutries it's 44 years. It use to get affected by many factors like smoking, chemotherapy, thyroid disorder, and many other diseases. In these cases, it can happen at the age of 40 or few years before this also.

 Menopause is the stoppage of the primary functions of the ovaries . It basically occurs during late 40's .

Menopause is the permanent stoppage of menstruation at the age of around 45 years .(pause -- stop).
