what does Brutus means by saying the choice and the master spirits of the age to the conspirators? please explain

Antony calls Brutus and his fellow-conspirators `the choice and master spirits of this age’. He calls them so because they were `powerful’ enough to cause the death of Caesar. He is referring to Caesar because he is fully convinced about the power and respect commanded by Caesar.

Brutus tells the conspirators the 'choice and master of the age' because it is they who have killed the mighty Caesar. After Caesar, they were to rule the empire. thus he claimed them the choice of the people and the master of the country.

also he wanted to appear friendly to them. thus he spoke this in flattery.
