What does Helen mean by the expression, " The shadow of the prison-house are on the rest. " ?

It means that when Helen Keller sat to write her autobiography she easily recalled some of her memories vividly, but some of her memories were still under shadows. The hazy memories are covered with the "shadow of the prison house", though they are free, but they are blurred by the shadow and enclosed by the prison house.
