What exactly is punnetts square?how do u derive it?

Punnett square is a way to determine the possible genotypes when crossing two parents. It is derived in a tabular form where the paternal allelic combinations are written on one side and the maternal allelic combinations are written on other side. Since the probability of all allelic combinations is equally likely we get all the possible genotypes of offspring from parents.
