what genre of stories does jenkins want the narrator to write?why?

Jenkins wanted the narrator to write ghost stories because his ghost stories seemed to be real and were liked by people as they gave them horrors . Second reason was that the narrator never refused to write stories.

The genre that Jenkins wanted the narrator(John Hallock)to write was supernaturals stories(ghost stories).He wanted this because according to him the public wanted horrors and that John's ghost seemed as live prepositions.John also never refused as ajenkin's magazine was the only one to print his stories.
