what is diameter?

Hi!

The chord passing through the centre of a circle is called diameter. The diameter of a circle divides it into two semicircles. The diameter of a circle is the longest chord of the circle and it is twice the radius.

In the following figure, AB is the diameter of the circle and O is the centre of the circle.

Hello..

The line that is half is called the radius like in the figure in the above answer the line if it had not passed O it was called a radius but the double of radius is called diameter. That is which passes the centra O and measures the whole circles length in between(not the circumference)is called a diameter. It is the double of the radius it divides it into 2 semi-circles.It joins the 2 ends of a circle.

Hope it was helpful CHEERS!!
