what is high dielectric constant
Dielectric constant of the medium is the ratio of the electrostatic force of interaction between two given point charges held certain distance apart in vacuum/air to the force of interaction between the same two charges held the same distance apart in the material medium.
Fo/Fm = ε/εo = K.
where ε is the permittivity of the material and εo is the permittivity of vaccum.
Therefore it can also be defined as is the ratio of permittivity of the material to the permittivity of the vaccum.
The solvents having value of dielectric constants more than 40 are called of high dielectric constants.
