Instantaneous velocity:

The instantaneous velocity of an object at an instant of time t is

$v_{i} = \underset{Δ t \to 0}{L i m} \frac{Δ x}{Δ t} = \frac{d x}{d t}$

So we can say that the instantaneous velocity of an object at a given instant is the first derivative of displacement with respect to time at that instant.
