Arithmetic mean or mean is the number which is obtained by adding the values of all the items of a series and dividing the total by the number of items.

When all items of a series are given equal importance then it is called simple arithmetic mean and when different items of a series are given different weights according with their relative importance is known as weighted arithmetic mean.

The MEDIAN is that value of the variable which divides the group into two equal parts,one part comprising all values greater and the other part comprising values less than the median.

The MODE of distribution is the value at that point around which the items tend to be most heavily concentrated.It may be regarded as the most typical of a series of values.
