what is PF5 ,SF6 and IF7 ??

and what will elements of 1,2 and 13 group do to gain their octet complete?? will they share the electrons??

Hi,

PF5, SF6 and IF7 are the fluorides of phosphorus, sulphur and iodine respectively.
Elements of group 1, 2 and 13 will lose electron to complete their octet, since we know, valency= number of electrons if the number of electrons in outermost shell is less than 4.

Hope it helps.
Cheers!
