What is the definition of Kinetic Energy ?

The energy posses by a body due to its motion is called kinetic energy

Kinetic energy of a body depends on its mass and speed.

 KE = 1/2(mv2

where m = mass of the body

v = speed of the body

SI unit of kinetic energy is same as that of energy i.e. Joules (J) and its derived unit is kg-m2 s-2

Scientific definiton: The energy possessed by an object by virtue of its motion is termed as 'Kinetic Energy". KE is directly proportionate to temperature (high temperature=high KE).

Gases have the highest KE, then come liquids and last solids.
