Hormones
Enzymes
Hormones are intercellular chemical messengers which travel through the body to reach to target organ or cell and initiate a process. They are produced by endocrine glands.
 They act as a biological catalyst to speed up the reactions in the cells.
They act indirectly.
Their action is direct
 For example: Insulin cause cells to convert glucose into glycogen.
For example: Salivary amylase, an enzyme present in saliva converts starch into sugars
