What is the difference betwwen heat capacity and specific heat capacity ?

Hello,

The differences between specific heat capacity and heat capacity are

 Heat capacity Specific heat capacity
1) It is the heat required to increase the  temperature of material of any mass(m) by  10C. So H = ms

1) It is the heat required to increase the temperature by 10C of any material of mass 1kg.

 s = ΔQ

2) It depends on the mass of material.2) It is independent of the mass of material.
3) Its SI unit is J/k.3) Its SI unit is  J/(kg-k)

For example, specific heat of water is 4.179 J/g/°C and heat capacity of water for 100g is 41.79 J/°C.
