  Is the condensed formula for propanon CH₃ -C- CH₃ ?? cuz I've read this formula in my science taxtbook, whereas on meritnation there's another formula..

Where R and R' are the alkyl groups. R and R' may or may not be same.

General formula for alkyl group is -- C_nH_2n+1  

Or we can also write  ketone as...

C_nH_2n+1  -CO-C_n'H_2n'+1

where n and n' may or may not be equal.
