 What purpose is served by the terminals of a three way plug?

You must we aware of the fact that we connect home appliances in parallel, to supply electrical energy to them.

Now, think of a situation, when you have to use a T.V. and DVD player at the system, but you have access of only one plug system. Moreover, you have to charge your mobile phone.

At such time, a three-way plug comes handy!!

You can connect three appliances in parallel at the same time using just one wall-socket!!

heehee,sory bt u gotta nice name,

oh realy gupta, is it so????

first of all its nt a 3 way plug, its 3 pin plug.

now come to the point,in some applicance like fan n bulb, we do not need earthing because they just require small power like 20- 200watt nbut applicance likee a/c n tv  needs power ranging from1000-2000watt. so the chances of short circitting is v high. for safty measure the are provided with the earthing also that is the 1 extra termina at the top.. in case short circitting occurs the heavy cureent coming gets into theearth by the earthing wire. thus keeping us safe from fire or shock..... see how imp is the extra termina of the 3pin plug. i hope u know that the other tow terminals(the terminal for live n neutral wire) are necssary for all other applicance for the current to come to d applicance n also for its return.  got it?
